At OPGS, we hold firm on our responsibility to deliver a broad and balanced curriculum, an exceptional standard of teaching and learning and a wider range of extra-curricular opportunities. We have high standards of behaviour and our pupils are ‘polite and courteous,’ contributing significantly to our consistently positive learning environment.
It is a real honour to be the Headteacher of this magnificent school. I, and every staff member, have high aspirations for every young person that attends our school. These high expectations are demonstrated through a broad and challenging curriculum, exceptional standards in regards to behaviour and attitudes and a commitment to delivering a wide range of extra-curricular and enrichment experiences. We are well known for our outstanding level of pastoral support and care. Our young people are well supported with their personal development but also challenged academically so that they can achieve to the best of their ability. Our outcomes at GCSE and A Level are exceptional and allow OPGS students to acquire the qualifications and skills necessary to take the next steps in their own personal journey.
Please contact the school if you would like to visit us and see for yourself.

Congratulations to Isaac who is the winner of the History competition. He produced an exceptional piece of work on The Christmas Truce. It was independently researched and presented in an interesting and informative way. Miss Aldous was delighted to recieve so many entries into the competition too.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas! Last week our students had the opportunity to have Christmas dinner together and enjoy some additional social time. This is also a fitting time to offer our thanks to our catering and site staff who ensure our students are looked after, well fed and have a nice area to eat their lunch together everyday. Thank you and Merry Christmas.

At OPGS, we find many ways to celebrate the success of our students. Our end of term assemblies are just one way of doing exactly that. We bring our year groups together and recognise those who have done well in specific subjects, those who are committed to the fundamental principles of the school and those who deserve special recognition. Well done to those who received acknowledgements in Year 10. We are looking forward to the remaining year groups celebration assemblies this week.
