Year 9

•  Environmental chemistry

•  Using chemistry

After Christmas in Year 9 the pupils start studying GCSE Chemistry. We follow the Edexcel 360 science syllabus and the topics studied in Year 9 are:

•  C1a Topic 5 - Patterns in properties

•  C1a Topic 6 - Making changes

GCSE modules are taken throughout the course and the first exam the pupils take is in June of Year 9.

Extension work

A science club is available for Year 7 pupils who wish to explore other aspects of science that are not covered in class.

Enrichment days and trips

Year 8 pupils are involved in a trip to the science museum where they explore Biology, Chemistry and Physics through hands on activities.
