In Year 12, Applied ICT students will:

  • investigate the impact of the internet and the Digital Divide
  • learn how to create and find multi-media resources and present them in web pages
  • investigate how a transactional web site works and how data flows between departments of the business
  • create and use a database to analyse data from a transactional web site
  • and analyse a business problem, use a complex spreadsheet model to identify a possible solution, and present this to the management team of the business

In Year 13 all of these skills will be built on.  In particular the course will improve your abilities in project management, multimedia and the creation of databases.

All of the modules in the Applied ICT course are examined by the completion of portfolio work carried out throughout the course, (prepared and submitted as e-portfolios,) or by a practical examination.
