The Mathematics department is an enthusiastic team of 4 men and 4 women with over ninety years teaching experience between them. All are willing to take a personal interest in each of their students.

Most of the Mathematics teaching occurs in specialist rooms, the majority being on the top floor of the main teaching block close to the Department Resource area. Three of these rooms are equipped with Interactive Whiteboards.

In Years 7, 8 and 10 there are six lessons devoted to Mathematics during the two week timetable and in Years 9 and 11 there are five lessons. Enrichment Days are utilised for mathematical activities such as investigations, group work, focus on exam techniques and GCSE coursework. In addition all students will take one of the UKMT Junior and Intermediate Maths challenges in which certificates of achievement are awarded.
