Key Stage 5

Subject content

At the moment we again follow an Edexcel syllabus for both AS and A-level, although this may change. The subject is modular, but examinations are only taken in June of the appropriate year.

AS

  • Unit 1: Mechanics and Radioactivity
  • Unit 2: Electricity and Thermal
  • Unit 3:Topics ( 4 choices ) and a Practical Exam, externally marked.

A2

  • Unit 4: Waves and our Universe
  • Unit 5: Fields and Forces and a Practical Exam, externally marked.
  • Unit 6: Synthesis

Extension work

In Key Stage 5, students are taught only by graduates in Physics, which means we can go far beyond the limitations of the syllabus.
