Top Results​

OPGS class of 2016 are celebrating a fantastic set of results this year with a third of all students achieving A*/A grades. Of particular note are thirteen students who gained 3 or 4 A*/A grades. Three students will take up places at Oxford or Cambridge. Thomas Ward with A*A*A is going to study Maths at St Peters College, ​Oxford.   Head Boy, Christopher Johnson with A*AA, and 12A* grades at GCSE, is taking up a place at St Edmunds Hall, Oxford to study Politics, Philosophy and Economics.  Robert Crawford with A*AA, and also 12A* grades at GCSE, is taking up a place to study History at Trinity College, Cambridge.  The school has also  provided universities with a bumper crop of students taking up courses in prized STEM subjects. Studying Maths are  Gwilym Old with A*AAA at St Andrews, Mitchel Shephard with A*A*A at Bath and Jack Slater with A*AA at Exeter. Joseph Hilder with A*A*A will be studying Biomedical Sciences at York.  Daniel Harris with A*A*A has a place at Southampton to study Computer Science and Thomas Collins with AAA is planning to study Chemical Engineering. Success in Arts and Humanities subjects also figure strongly.  Head Girl Alice Churchill, with AAA, is off to study Theology at Exeter. James Samuel, Stanley Draper and Charlie Catmull with AAA each are taking up places at Russell Group universities to study History, Geography and Digital Production. Staff at OPGS are looking forward to presenting awards to students at the annual Celebration of Achievement meal in December where staff act as waiters to former pupils and hear all about their former students’ experiences of university life.
