Oxbridge 2016

OPGS has beaten prestigious private schools such as Bedales and Gordonstoun this year with 4 students getting offers from Oxford and Cambridge universities. Year 13 students Alice Churchill, Christopher Johnson, Robert Crawford and Thomas Ward from OPGS were 4 of the 34,000 applicants to Oxford and Cambridge competing for places. All four received offers from these prestigious universities whose average entry grades at A level range from A*A*A to A*AA. All four students will be the first in their families to go to university. That they have offers is a testament, not only to the support of their parents but also to the encouragement and academic guidance that staff at OPGS provide in inspiring students to aim high. Sixth Form staff at OPGS are experienced in guiding students through the gruelling process of admissions tests and interviews.

The students have offers for a wide variety of subjects.  Alice, who is also Head Girl, has an offer to study Religious Studies and Theology at Girton College, Cambridge, Robert Crawford has an offer from Trinity College Cambridge to study History, Thomas Ward has an offer from St Peter's College, Oxford to study Maths and Christopher Johnson, who is also Head Boy, has an offer to study Philosophy, Politics and Economics at St Edmund's Hall, Oxford.
