Oakwood Park Grammar School
The school has a full programme of extra-curricular opportunities ranging from subject specific clubs, through to school sport, drama and music. Students also have the opportunity to take part in the Duke of Edinburgh scheme. There is also the opportunity to for students to get involved with the school’s annual charity projects, whether that be fundraising for charity or taking part in one of our overseas charity projects.
With an active and well-established fixture programme there are excellent opportunities for students to represent the school in a wide range of sports including rugby, football, cricket, athletics and rowing. There is also a bi-annual sports tour to South Africa for senior sports students.
Our annual school production allows all students, not just those who study the subject at GCSE or A level, to take part in one of the highlights of the school year. Whether performing on stage, designing or painting the set, playing the accompanying music or organising publicity for the event, there is an opportunity for involvement.
The school was awarded the ‘International School’s Award’ by the British Council for its work with school’s overseas. The school’s exchange programme is at the heart of this but also the school’s charity work overseas. This has included refurbishing and providing computers for a school in Ghana, working at an orphanage in Peru and conservation work in Chile.
