At OPGS, we hold firm on our responsibility to deliver a broad and balanced curriculum, an exceptional standard of teaching and learning and a wider range of extra-curricular opportunities. We have high standards of behaviour and our pupils are ‘polite and courteous,’ contributing significantly to our consistently positive learning environment.
It is a real honour to be the Headteacher of this magnificent school. I, and every staff member, have high aspirations for every young person that attends our school. These high expectations are demonstrated through a broad and challenging curriculum, exceptional standards in regards to behaviour and attitudes and a commitment to delivering a wide range of extra-curricular and enrichment experiences. We are well known for our outstanding level of pastoral support and care. Our young people are well supported with their personal development but also challenged academically so that they can achieve to the best of their ability. Our outcomes at GCSE and A Level are exceptional and allow OPGS students to acquire the qualifications and skills necessary to take the next steps in their own personal journey.
Please contact the school if you would like to visit us and see for yourself.

We are very much looking forward to the Big Book Swap this week. Students in Year 7 and Year 8 are invited to bring in a book they are happy to part with on Thursday. They will then get a ticket, which they can use to pick a new book on Friday. This will encourage reading and is a small contribution to being a more sustainable school. Students can ask their Form Tutors all about it.

I really enjoyed my early morning visit to Hopehill campsite to see the Year 10 students on their practice DoE expedition. There were a few sleepy faces but they were all in very good spirits as they began to pack away their tents and make their breakfast. It is always nice to get lovely feedback on our students and one assessor said he was so impressed with them and what a pleasure they had been. My thanks as always to the dedicated staff that give up their weekend to make this happen for OPGS students. Good luck to the students on their 15km hike today. Mrs Craig

Well done to all of the OPGS community on a successful start to the school year, however our new Year 7s deserve a special mention. They've done a brilliant job of navigating their way around the school, managing their new routines and embracing the OPGS ethos. We hope they have enjoyed every second and look forward to seeing them continue to build their confidence, make more friends and find their passion in the school. #striveandserve
