At OPGS, we hold firm on our responsibility to deliver a broad and balanced curriculum, an exceptional standard of teaching and learning and a wider range of extra-curricular opportunities. We have high standards of behaviour and our pupils are ‘polite and courteous,’ contributing significantly to our consistently positive learning environment.
It is a real honour to be the Headteacher of this magnificent school. I, and every staff member, have high aspirations for every young person that attends our school. These high expectations are demonstrated through a broad and challenging curriculum, exceptional standards in regards to behaviour and attitudes and a commitment to delivering a wide range of extra-curricular and enrichment experiences. We are well known for our outstanding level of pastoral support and care. Our young people are well supported with their personal development but also challenged academically so that they can achieve to the best of their ability. Our outcomes at GCSE and A Level are exceptional and allow OPGS students to acquire the qualifications and skills necessary to take the next steps in their own personal journey.
Please contact the school if you would like to visit us and see for yourself.

OPGS welcomed back @bbcradio4 Any Questions? last night, 17 years after their last visit to the school. Thank you to the whole BBC team and guests for a fantastic evening of political discussion and debate. Thank you also to our fantastic Sixth Form prefects Ifan and Arthur, who along with Ms Hern warmed the audience up before the show began.

Three for Tuesday: This week we have 3 students we think deserve a special mention. 1) Sanjeev, in Year 10, who has written and published his own novel. Students can take a copy out of the library. 2) Joe, in Year 11, who has been leading revision sessions for fellow students ahead of the PPEs. 3) Oliver, in Year 9, who spent time volunteering for The Bluebell Circle over half term. This charity has been raising money to support a family in his village who recently lost their daughter. OPGS students are so impressive across many different areas. Well done!

Now that our open events for joining us in Year 7 have come to an end, we wish to say thank you to every prospective family that came to have a look at our school. We had over 650 families visit us and hope that they all left with a real sense of what life at this school is like. Strive and Serve.
