At OPGS we are always striving to match the needs of our students to the rapidly changing economic and higher education environments. The number and variety of offers of places from Oxbridge and other elite universities continues to grow. In recent years, we have also consolidated our connections with City firms and engineering companies. Every year we follow with excitement the careers of our students from years gone by. The fact that so many are keen to take current OPGS 6th Forms students on for work experience is testament to the warm and lasting relationships our staff develop with our 6th Form students.

Merry Christmas to all members of the OPGS community. We've enjoyed a wonderful term with much to celebrate but now it is time to rest alongside family and friends. Do read the Headteachers Newsletter which contains exciting news about next year and @ Oakwood which celebrates the happenings in the school. Remember the school website has contact details under "Worried about a child?" if any member of the community has a safeguarding concern over the break from school.

Congratulations to Isaac who is the winner of the History competition. He produced an exceptional piece of work on The Christmas Truce. It was independently researched and presented in an interesting and informative way. Miss Aldous was delighted to recieve so many entries into the competition too.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas! Last week our students had the opportunity to have Christmas dinner together and enjoy some additional social time. This is also a fitting time to offer our thanks to our catering and site staff who ensure our students are looked after, well fed and have a nice area to eat their lunch together everyday. Thank you and Merry Christmas.
